Don't miss this place for good, fresh food and busy but friendly service. Don't expect anything fancy but if your'e looking for great food at a reasonable price, you won't be disappointed. Our table had the gyros, pork kabobs and liver and onions. Everyone was more than satisfied with the meal and are eager to go back and try something else from their extensive menu and specials board.

Loved it! Brought the family and we had a fantastic breakfast. It's a true diner with the owner chef slaving in the kitchen making his magic. Try it out.

Came here with the team for our last breakfast together in Florida. I ordered the three-egg breakfast plate, which came with choice of toast/muffin, sausage/bacon, and home fries/hash browns. I think I definitely got what I paid for. The portions were great and the food tasted good. Service was attentive and they even offered us extra potatoes at no extra charge.

The food is good but nothing to write home about while the service is warm, friendly and helpful. Being a diner, it is small. It was clean but I do think it could have been cleaner. It wasn't all that warm and comfortable as far as the decorating goes but the nice staff makes up for that and will make you comfy even if the looks wont. The food was good although I have had better, but it was cooked through, fresh and hot, and definitely good enough to finish and say I would come back and eat here again. Overall, it is a pleasant little place that feels akin to eating over at someones home and they do make you feel like family.

Four of us ate there for lunch after we ended our cruise. Reviews were good so we were expecting a good meal. Hummus was good, but Greek salad was just poor. The Giro was fair and the baklava was dry and hard. Service was a little rushed even though it was not crowded. We were expecting a hidden local gem but got a not so good diner. I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here.

Pretty disappointing. We were looking for a place to have breakfast and this was recommended by the concierge at the Hilton as a place she goes to. They were obviously overwhelmed with only two servers and there was a wait. No problem, we weren't in a huge hurry. We finally got seated and eventually ordered our breakfast. The food was mediocre and under-cooked. Side note: The servers were also busing and were in a big hurry. The bench seat was totally wet and soaked through my shorts. Later a server cleaning another table with a really wet rag slung the contents on said rag on me and my food. Probably good at other times - but really disappointing on our visit. We won't be back and we will not be taking any more recommendations from the concierge at the Hilton.

Best Mom & Pop diner near the beach! I always load up at this wonderful little place either to or from Cocoa Beach. Their club sandwich is to die for. The interior is no frills, and you can tell the place has simply been there forever! Not to be missed!

This is a place you know what you will get. You will not be blown away by the food. They have the standard breakfast items and you get great service.

I went here on the rec of another poster on Yelp, but I do not recommend this place, unless you want some sort of intestinal parasite. This is possibly the worst diner that I've ever been to - and that's saying a lot. I got toast (DRIPPING in butter), potatoes (mealy and not fresh) and kielbasa (edible). Other person got pancakes, which were totally RAW in the middle and batter went all over the plate. The waitress didn't care about our issues. Shortly thereafter, the table next to us all sent their egg dishes back since they were very upset that their eggs came out RAW and yolk was everywhere. Gave me the willies. We left and left half the food on our plates. Avoid this place and go to Waffle House if you're really craving diner fare.

This is a pleasant and friendly little place. Took trip over to see the sunrise, then had breakfast here. Our server was very nice. Hubby had grilled pork chops, eggs, and grits. Everything was good, (chops could have used a little seasoning, he forgot to request seasoning, but was good, none the less), I had eggs and kielbasa and grits, it was great! We will go back when in the area. This used to be a Ranch House Restaurant, years ago. My Mom was a server there when I was a child!!! Just a bit of history!!!!

5 stars for a diner. It always has a crowd of locals, which is a good sign. We've been here for one week and had breakfast there twice. Great service, coffee, and food. I gave it 5 stars and a short review because I have nothing bad to say about it. We did not have lunch or dinner there, however.

This ain't yo momma's biscuits and gravy. We stopped here after 13 hours in the car and driving through the night (not the smartest idea unless you have 4 drivers like we did). It seemed like your typical "diner" on the side of the road in the middle of a busy area that should have good food you write home about. Well, I'm writing, but I wouldn't send it home. The service was great. We were greeted immediately, sat down at a table in front of the kitchen window, drinks were delivered promptly, and we were given time to order. I ordered some loaded skillet that had everything under the sun and in the back of the barn. The rest of the cohorts weren't as adventurous. None of them had anything negative to say, and I really don't either. I gave this a three star just because it wasn't good enough to be a four. The food came out pretty fast and was hot. But, it lacked a "fresh" taste. Maybe because it was cooked with a gallon of oil and butter. That doesn't make it bad. It was typical diner food. In a pinch, not a bad stop for good service and a quick, cheap bite to eat.

  • Sarah R.

The omelettes are perfect. Thin, full of delicious fillings and fresh. The biscuits and gravy are also so so delicious. Love that you can see the mom and pop owners cooking up your food in the kitchen. Great service, great food, great vibe!! Everything you want in a diner!

  • Kim B.

Outstanding service! Visited twice for breakfast and both times left fully satisfied. Breakfast menu is a large variety from sos,Sausage and gravy, chocolate chip pancakes.

  • E O.

Small but packs a wallop! Great corned beef hash! Country fried steak was so tender a knife was not even needed to cut it. And the gravy was out of this world!! Price was reasonable too. Waitresses were real busy though. Seemed under staffed. Will definitely go back if I am anywhere nearby!

  • Ken B.

I dined at this small, family owned, diner this morning. I could not wait to write a review of how delicious and fresh the food was. I had the Grecian Omelet with homefries. The omelet was made with at least three eggs (it was huge), gyro meat, feta, and tomatoes. It was fluffy and full of flavor. The home fires were uniquely crisp and flavorful, as well. The service was excellent and friendly. A can't miss! Not a place for a large party, as I did not see seating that could accommodate one (mostly booths that seat 4). Oh, one more thing...inexpensive and portions a plenty!

    (5)
  • Lacey E.

This place is your typical diner... Not bad, not great. The staff is very friendly :-)

  • Bill J.

Food is like eating at your mom's. Good food, better than usual diner food. I ordered a grilled chicken breast sandwich at lunchtime. It was tasty & juicy, having been marinated in something. All six in our party thought that the food was good. The menu also features many Greek items and dinners. They have an amazing selection of pie. If you are looking for Greek specialties, the Sunrise will run circles around your average diner.

Sunrise Diner has some mixed reviews, seems folks either love it or hate it... Like Brian R who reviewed earlier, I'm a chef and traveling on vacation, I try to stay out of chains and support the local restaurant owners as much as I can. I had breakfast at Sunrise Diner on Memorial Day which naturally meant it was off the chain busy... But we got in fast because unlike the party of 6 adults and 4 kids ahead of us who somehow expected a diner with 4 person booths to seat them all together, we sat at the first come first serve no waiting counter. Our server was a sweetheart, she said she was new but she treated us like she was a pro. The business was brisk, but people all around us was being served their meals so clearly the kitchen was keeping up with the rush. The specials board had "Corned Beef Hash Eggs Benedict" and my husband is a sucker for corned beef hash... In his words "it's crazy how good this is" and his criteria for corned beef hash is that it's not too salty. Our server told us the corned beef hash was house made, impressive! I had pancakes and they were light and fluffy. My coffee cup of decaf never went begging for a refill. Could the decor be freshened up? Sure. But fortunately we don't eat decor, and when the food and service is spot on authentic, decor doesn't really matter. From what I saw the place was spotlessly clean, just aged. Just have to address another review I read about under cooked eggs, where I come from if you order over easy, it's going to be a runny egg... otherwise you order over medium or over hard. Just saying...

    (5)
  • Jimmy C.

Staff is nice but the food leaves much to be desired. My wife and I both got a ham and cheese omelette and it looked cooked on the outside and was runny on the inside. The tables and the restaurant were tiny. My nephew got French toast and it was made with something other than white bread and he didn't like it either. The grits were tasteless and the home fries were burnt. The best thing I had for breakfast was the toast. I even had to add sweet and low to the semi-sweet tea.

  • Brian R.

Since I am a chef and traveling i feel its very important to future vacationers to know where to eat. The owner of Sun Rise Diner is also the chef which means anything you order will be prepared with love. I had the Crab Benedict. Our party of 8 all had great food and service with an old school diner feel. They serve breakfast all day with great specials, all made from scratch

  • jen m.

Food was okay... I ordered an omelette and it was okay. Came with a pancake that tasted like it was frozen.. Our server was not friendly at all.. we chose this restaurant based off of other reviews and our experience wasn't good.. Ill stick with barrier jacks!!

    (3)
  • Dina A.

We split the Crab eggs benedict (which was good) - but VERY salty :-( Coffee was very weak "white-boy" coffee Price point is good busy place for breakfast - taste was lacking in the benedict sauce and was mostly SALTY which was disappointing

  • Steve H.

This Place is alright, it reminds me of a waffle house, the place is very quiet. The Food Is Good, Portions Are Great, The Price Is A Little Pricey Unless You Grab A Special

    (4)
  • Brian T.

I visit this diner every once in a while and have had good food and good service.

  • Mitch L.

I just wanted good food and I had seafood the night before so I picked this Greek owned place I read about on Yelp. I had the Gyro. While it was not the best one I ever had, it was very good and the service here was awesome and down home. This place was not too pricey either.

    (4)
  • Bethanne B.

Your classic diner! Great food, diner atmosphere, quick friendly service and cheap to boot! I love it! Come on in and bring something to read, the coffee is hot, the eggs are cooked to order and food is great!

  • Christy R.

Couldn't find any diners on yelp while searching breakfast restaurants but just happened to drive by it on our way out of cocoa beach. Service was great. Food came out quick and it was a busy time. I had the Grecian omelette. YUM. Will go back for sure.

    (5)
  • Paula O.

The first thing I noticed was the smell when I walked in the door. Kind of fishy...(but they do have seafood in the menu so that could be me). The pancakes were very plain, but ok. The bacon had a slight taste like they may have fried some kind of seafood in that pan before the bacon (I almost didn't eat the rest of my bacon - and I don't EVER leave bacon behind!) the service was fine. Overall average to subpar-I wouldn't go back. The locals seemed to really like it because several came in while I was there, so maybe it was just a bad day?

    (2)
  • Paige B.

Really great spot for breakfast! I love the homey old time diner feel to it too! The food was fast and the server never let our drinks get too low. Definitely recommend for breakfast!

    (5)
  • Amy A.

We had Greek for lunch. The gyro was good as was the spinach pie. A little disappointed in the Greek salad. Where were the olives? We had calamari as an appetizer. Very disappointing, was expecting a much fresher calamari. Very friendly service.

  • Kile P.

This place is the quintessential greek diner. If you've been to one, you've been to them all, but the food here is top notch given the price. If you're expecting to be blown away by the basics, I don't know what to tell you, but they it well there. The staff is very courteous, and the service is usually prompt. If you find yourself with a hangover in Cocoa Beach, I definitely recommend this place for a good breakfast.

    (4)
  • Patty B.

We had dinner here. This is a Greek resturant/dinner, my Greek salad consisted of a few pieces of lettuce on a saucer plate, no olives. My husbands Country fried Steak with gravy had dark brown gravy, it should have a white gravy, the taste was meh. The decor is sad. Wouldn't recommend.

Ate breakfast there two days in a row while visiting the area great staff and the food is excellent at a good value

This place was recommend by a local friend and we also saw signage somewhere "Best Diner in the County" so expected it to be good - it wasnt . Service was slow. Server was friendly however keep making mistakes. (at least 3 mistakes and there was only 2 of is in our party). Had to send food back etc. The food (breakfast) was average. We could not get out of there fast enough after eating. Then the disapppointment continued. You cannot pay your server. You have to stand at a register by the entrance to pay. There was no one attending the register so we waited patiently at least 5 min while other employees kept walking by without acknowledging us. Finally just approached someone who was helping other patrons and told them we needed to pay. McDonalds would have been a better choice in my opinion.

You can't get a better breakfast than The Sunrise Diner in Cocoa Beach, FL.!!!! Hands down, the best breakfast for the price. We visit the restaurant about every other month. The waitress knows us and is always friendly and very attentive to our needs. Every time we have our friends or family from up north visit, we make sure we take them here! We always leave very satisfied and ready for the beach If you are visiting the Cocoa Beach area, you need to eat your breakfast here.

If ur looking for a great "Jersey style" Diner, this is the place. Great food served quickly by an attentive staff staff that seems to be glad you came by The corned beef hash has a ton of flavor and the Greek omlette is worth a special trip. Try it once and you'll become a regular.

When I'm vacationing, I like to frequent mom and pop type places because usually you get more bang for your buck than some corporate place. I was right about this place too. The inside reminded me of that show Alice, in a good way. It seemed like this place has been in business for a good while. Place was bustling and the staff was hustling, they were very prompt yet friendly. It was only $4.99 to get a two egg breakfast with grits, home fries or hash browns and two slices of toast. I added bacon for a buck more and it was all right. I got scrambled eggs and they were perfectly cooked, a rarity sometimes in other places who cook them until they are rubbery. I got grits which were creamy and piping hot. Good and hot coffee. I asked for water, which I didn't get but the place was so busy and loud, they might not have heard me. Pretty good little place.

I have been to a lot of breakfast places but this one was fantastic. Everything from the service, the portions and the flavors were incredible. This is a definite stop on future trips. Try the Irish Benedict, its delicious!

I highly recommend the Grecian Omlette! Think Gyro in an Omlette and it is delish! The biscuits are scratch and wonderful. Home fries are okay but not amazing. Overall well worth the breakfast!

  • Marla M.

My go to breakfast spot. Quality at it's best! Tasty meals. Great daily specials. Large coffee mugs filled with delicious coffee. Comfy booths. Great music. Top notch service. Truly a classic diner experience!

  • Yashica B.

Great food, poor service :( the waitress seemed to be nervous serving us. The country omelet is great and so are the eggs and pancakes. The home fries were mushy. The greeter was friendly. She's pregnant!! But really, I would not come back here or subject my family to it because we look differently.

  • Brian M.

Sunrise Diner is exactly that a typical diner. Nothing fancy. The food is good, service is fast and the staff is friendly. I ate there both mornings I was in town.

    (4)
  • Chris Z.

This diner is run by a Greek chef. Which means you can get things like an omlet with gyro meat, or lamb dishes for dinner. Prices are very reasonable. The decor leaves something to be desired... but hey, they advertise themselves as a diner. I had the grecian omlette. It was good. It came with a side of potatoes and toast.

Six of us, four boys(14, 11, 9 & )and two adults stopped in one evening after two hours at the beach and a visit to Kennedy Space Center. We stopped due to the reviews on the intergoogles and were blown away. Had a new server who didn't know everything about the menu, but found an accurate answer to every question. We ate a burger, pancakes, eggs, bacon, sausage, gyros, marinated chicken breast, ham, fries, hash browns, Greek potatoes(omg they were good), tomato basil soup and orzo. It was all outstanding.

    (5)
  • Bryan M.

Went here for breakfast today... service was good.... they forgot the sausage gravy for my chicken fried steak... the grits must have been from a box... many better options in the area

Great price and great service. Our meals came out just as we asked and our waitress was very attentive, did not keep us waiting. Great choice for all day breakfast with good portions without having to empty your wallet.

Greek mama tried and true you can taste the loving. Liver and onions, meatloaf soups great salad and deserts are well prepared and balanced. Great for those rainy days when your not quite feeling loved. Stress melts away with the first bite. Order extra gravy with meatloaf and mash. Great variety great flavorful meals at 1970 prices.

It's a diner, nothing outstanding as far as food goes. Service was very good and friendly. Good prices for the portions, I would come back.

    (3)
  • Cory P.

I've only been here a few times for breakfast, but it's exactly what I'm looking for with breakfast! It's a true diner experience all around with a kitchen on one side of you and a row of windows on the other. The service is always FAST here and that's even with a good sized crowd usually! I believe they even have mimosas and bloody marys now also!

Walked all the way there and it was closed even though schedule on Yelp! says open till 9. Bummer

I've put off writing this review for awhile. Have recently moved back to Cocoa Beach. I've been a loyal customer of Sunrise for well over a decade. This used to be the place to go for really good family style food, in a relaxed very casual atmosphere. Certain items are still good. Breakfast is good if you order during the day. From around 4 on, the cook can't even get the hash browns brown and omelets are dry. During normal breakfast times, it's a good breakfast. They used to have the best club sandwich around. Now, the price has soared and meat is hard to find. The burgers are OK. They have gotten pricey. If you put cheese on 1/3 pd burger, get some fries, and an ice tea, you're going to be right above $10 before tip. For me, kind of pricey for a mediocre burger with 15 fries. Yep, have counted the fries the last 2 visits; they work out to about 15 cents per fry. If you're a regular, like me, you get really nice, attentive service. If not, you'll be just a number. The place is getting really run down. It seems the very tight nit family that operates Sunrise are just going through the motions these days. From the really worn carpet and upholstery to the overly loud satellite radio music, it's obvious this is a place that is just going through the motions and depending on customers like me that just go because it's familiar. The talent and know how is there to bring this restaurant back to the success it once was. Fortunately, the location keeps it a bit under the radar for tourist; plus it's not a big franchise so the tourist don't overwhelm the place. Comfortable place for locals, but they too are getting a bit tired of the owners neglecting the business or just not caring.

  • Rebekah H.

Very good food. Generous portions, and low prices. It was ridiculously busy, and our good still came out very quickly! It's very loud when it's full, but it's a diner. ;)

    (5)
  • Tricia M.

First time here & we were very disappointed. There was a dead roach on the floor next to our table when we sat down. The pancakes were dense and doughy and the sausage patties were very greasy. The biscuits were also dense and the western omelet was dry. The service was very friendly, the only redeeming quality for this restaurant, unfortunately.

    (2)
  • R Michael S.

I've noticed a drastic drop in the quality of the food over the last 20 years. I used to eat there weekly, but that has dropped off to "almost never". At the same time, the prices have increased.

    (2)
  • Gwendolyn R.

We got a blueberry muffin that taste like it was in the freezer for a year or two. Also we got biscuits and gravy. This had a freezer burnt taste as well. The dinner looks dirty and gross. The coffee was expectable.

    (1)
  • Tully R.

This an excellent choice for comfort food. Homemade corned beef hash is as good as it gets. The waitresses are friendly and busy. The coffee is good and hot. A good stop.

Not great, not horrible. Less options that diners in New jersey but then again they are a dime a dozen there.

Best fish and chips ever. Lightest breading I've ever had, and no grease. Lemon meringue pie was better than Mom's (sorry Mom). Demitri was great great fun too! Good family fun!!

  • Amanda T.

Amazing!!! BEST country fried steak I have ever had! Bob Evans Used to be my fav.... This place. Omg the BEST. I wish I could order a bunch to take home to Baltimore!!! Lol

  • Don F.

If you can catch this place in a non-rush tourist time, it's pretty cool. I've eaten here many times and they have one of those menus that...when you want a Greek omelet, or fried eggs with Greek potatoes...this is absolutely the place to go. If you're hungry and in a rush...that may be another matter. But the food is good, certainly the passion for Greek cooking is there. If there's a line at the door, I don't stop. The food is good, and well prepared. Very much a diner atmosphere, and if that's what you're looking for, this is the place for you. If I woke up in Orlando and was driving to the beach for the day, this would be a good stop to carbo load before surfing and swimming for the day.

Reminds me of Waffle House. Good 'ole back-home breakfast, at a very affordable price. Top that all off with some excellent service, and you've earned my highest rating. Come check it out.

It needs updating but the waitresses are so nice and friendly and the food is great and relaible. All desserts are made fresh and on premises. We had country fried steak and meatloaf.. I asked for greek salad and the dressing was homemade and wonderful!!We were so bad and got cheesecake for dessert and it was perfect!! Baklava is spectacular

Great food, quick and friendly service! We were seated immediately (even during the breakfast rush) and served promptly. The manager even stopped by our table to make sure we were enjoying ourselves. A perfect place to go if you want to avoid the big chain restaurants and crowds of tourists -- and get a mighty tasty meal while you're at it!
